How often is it ok to change baby's formula?

My baby is 6 weeks old. He left the hospital drinking Enfamil Lacto free because he was throwing up. We kept him on the formula for 4 weeks, but he was severely constipated. We came to the conclusion that he was throwing up in the hospital because of an excess in flem not because he was lactose intolerant. Now he's on Good start with Comfort Proteins and he's now pooping daily, but he is crying a lot and isn't sleeping well. I would like to try another formula, but im not sure if its too soon or which new formula to try. Please help....any suggestions? How often is it ok to change baby%26039;s formula?
It is recommended to give him a week or two on the new formula before you can really tell if it is the formula (at least that is what enfamil told me) But you may call your doctor and see what he/she thinks. How often is it ok to change baby%26039;s formula?
I would stick to what's working at the moment. Crying and a disruption in sleep patterns is very normal for a baby of this age, so there's no way to know if its the formula or not. Just leave it be for now.How often is it ok to change baby%26039;s formula?
it might not be the formula some babies cry and have colic and most lil new babes dont sleep very wellHow often is it ok to change baby%26039;s formula?
My son is 7 weeks and we've tried everything. I started out exclusively breastfeeding (first two weeks) and he kept spitting that up and fussing and had weight gain issues. Now when I say spitting up i mean exploding, out the nose and all, and excess (ie he'd drink 2 oz and spit up 8-10). Next we tried two kinds of milk based formula, same problems (minus weight gain). And lastly we've tried soy, with spit up issues. The whole time I had been telling my sons doctor what was going on. Finally, after the last episode I threw a hissy fit in the dr office and they gave us some meds for reflux. They have kind of helped. I would talk to the doctor. Maybe try one of the formulas made for fussiness?

Good luck and if you find something that works let me know!!!How often is it ok to change baby%26039;s formula?
I recommend giving the baby at least 2-4 weeks before changing formulas. Remember that the baby goes through a lot of changes the first 3 months of their life. His body needs to adjust. I've notice also with goodstart you may have to increase the ounces since the milk is not as thick as other formulas. Its like giving a baby breast milk. And since a baby on breast milk eat more often than a bottle fed baby. Your child may be crying because he/she may need another ounce just to get off to sleep.
