How do i change baby's sleeping pattern?

My son is 11 months old, and for the past 2 or 3 months he's been staying up all night, and finally nodding off at around 6am. He then sleeps until about 1pm, and has around 2 naps during the day. I dont know how he got like this. Ive never had a set routine for him, so its probably my fault. I am desperate to get him back to normal though. Before he would sleep from about 10pm till around 9am.

Ive tried keeping him awake more during the day, but he just cries and cries until he can fall asleep. Even when it gets to around 4am, i give him his last feed, get in bed and put him in the cot next to me. He will then cruise around the cot, reaching out for the things and be talking to himself for about an hour, then the crying and screaming starts and i have to pick him up and put him in bed with me until he falls asleep.

I cant do this for much longer, im constantly exhausted. I would love it if he would sleep at a normal time.

Anyone else been through this?

Thanks xxxHow do i change baby%26039;s sleeping pattern?
Instead of letting him sleep till 1 wake him up around 10:30 then around 3 he'll be ready for a nap again dont let him sleep to long or to short, if he doesnt sleep long enough he'll be ready to go to bed at 4 and its too late then, once he goes to bed at 3 let him sleep till about 4:15 then he will be ready for bed about 9 9:30. just get him all full and give him a nice warm bath lay down with him with cartoons on and he should fall asleep within 15 minutes and sleep throu the night but he will be up around 8 or 9 and just keep slightly changing his schedual until its where you want it.How do i change baby%26039;s sleeping pattern?
Wow, that sounds like a nightmare. I highly recommend the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. My kids have been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks old and have taken regular naps during the day.How do i change baby%26039;s sleeping pattern?
Sleeping patterns are all about habit, and once the habit is formed there will be tears before you can break it!

Just stick to your guns, try waking him up earlier on a morning %26amp; try to keep him awake during the day in the periods that suit you - obviously he needs his little sleeps during the day but keep them short, power naps, and when awake keep him highly entertained to stop him being bored and that'll keep him awake longer.

It won't be an instant change but if you can gradually shift the pattern from day to night then eventually he'll fit right in with your sleeping pattern which is what its all about really.

Good luck! How do i change baby%26039;s sleeping pattern?
