How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?

I have a really hard time changing my baby because he hates getting changed. He constantly flips over when I try to change him. It is like world war 3 to get him in his pajamas. Once he's dressed he's happy. Is this a normal thing that he'll grow out of?How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
sit on your butt and put your legs over his arms (or shoulders)

mind did this too.How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?

Try pull-ups.

They helped us with this situation. How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
LOL so normal!!!! i had my husband hold his arms at these times.... it will not last long. Change him on the floor so baby doesn't get hurt! How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
I would grab his legs a little firmly and tell him no..This worked with my son and I still tell him no now and he doesn't move...He is 17 months old now. If he keeps squirming keep grabbing his legs and telling him no...don't do it to hard though you don't want to hurt him you just want him to know that you don't want him to do this. My son used to do that. I would just flip him back over and tell him... %26quot;Matthew, I am trying to change your diaper, you can play when I am finished%26quot; or when I flip him back over I say %26quot;Not when we are getting changed%26quot;. After a couple weeks he stopped. You have to keep at it though. Say it every time. He will adventually get it.How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
I am having the same problem with my 8 month old son. He has always liked having his diaper changed, but now he is so active that he is always trying to flip over and grab for things and it is almost impossible to keep him still.

The only solution that I have to offer is to give him something to distract him. With my son I give him clean wipes to play with, sometimes even a clean diaper will keep him occupied. Otherwise, a favorite toy or something to let him hold while you are changing him. Other than that, I'm interested to see what other people have to suggest! Good luck! How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
We give our 9 month old something to play with. Like the clean diaper that will soon be on his behind. Try a toy or something, a wipe works good too! Or try changing him while he has a bottle. Anything to keep him busy and laying still. How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
give him something to play with!! something he REALLY likes. or something to suck on, he'll be distracted while u do so.How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
Give him a toy or something to chew on while he's being changed, or get a baby wipes warmer. This works with my girl when she just really wants to stand and throws a fit. Give it a try, and good luckHow do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
He'll grow out of it, my son was the same, and my daughter is starting to do the same thing. With my son I use to give him the T.V. remote, that's the only thing that managed to keep him entertained. How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
Its normal and yes they outgrow it, Im waiting on my 14 month old to outgrow it as we speak. However I give him something to occupy him. A toy, the top of the wipe container but I only let him have it when its time for diaper changes and I'd say 85 percent of the time it works. Or making faces at him and interacting with him they both work for meHow do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
my son is the same way and is almost 3 years old. I am hoping that it is something they grow out of at some point. I was always worried that he was going to flip himself over so fast he would wind up on the floor. How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
yes, this is normal, and he may or may not grow out of it (unfortuneately). The ways I've had success with unhappy dressers is to try entertaining them--I keep a bowl of interesting items on the changing table and give them to my baby while changing. i try to pick items she doesn't normally play with, like a funny keychain, a toddler spoon, (safe) Mcdonald's toys, etc.

I also do a lot of singing or being silly with my baby to keep her happy. i'll make funny noises with my mouth and she'll try to imitate. i'll play peek-a-boo with her with her clothes, or I'll tickle her. Knowing it's a time to play with Mommy makes her less resistant.

You could also try dressing him in your lap. For babies this age, they often prefer this more hands on method and won't squirm as much.

Worse come to worst, I would lay them on the floor and put my leg across their belly while I fasten their diaper (especially important since I use cloth diapers and didn't want to inadvertantly pin their bellies!). Try some different things and see what works for him.How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
Ha! Dressing my 7 month old daughter is like wrestling with an octopus!

I'm considering duct tape! How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
Try handing him a toy. Remember your the parent. Letting him flip over like that could really get him hurt. You need to tell him no.How do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
it is totally normal my son is almost a year and still douse that just give him a toy or something to prey occupy him and tell him to Waite it will only be a minuet it worked for my sonHow do I keep my nine month old from flipping over when I change him?
1-towel on the floor

2-use your kung-fu grip

3-pull-ups are so much easier, and baby may be standing soon, which will be the position of choice for all future diaper changes. You can just yank them up!
