Changing baby to cows milk!?

i have an 11month old son! he'll be 1 on may the 23rd.

i dont want to fully change him to cows milk yet, but i'd like to start adding it to his diet so that hes ready when he hits 1.

is it hard switching them over? how should i go about doing it? ive heard ppl say they add cows milk to there formula. how?

should i add say 3oz of cows milk to 5oz of formula. (formula thats been added with water?) or should i add cows milk to just the formula powder instead of the water? thanks allChanging baby to cows milk!?
I transitioned my son to cows milk at 11.5 months by gradually adding 1 oz of milk to his formula (powder %26amp; water) per day. After 1 week he was able to tolerate milk without any problem.

ie. Day 1 - 8oz bottle, was 7oz of H2O, 1oz milk and powder

Day 2 - 8oz bottle, was 6 oz of H2O, 2oz milk and powderChanging baby to cows milk!?
Mix the formula w/water first, then add milk to that.Changing baby to cows milk!?
My son is 16 months old. When we switched him over the doctor said to do it by small amounts. If he had an 8oz bottle, 2ozs of it would be milk. We'd do that for a week and if he was fine then we upped it to 4 oz for a week, then 6 oz and finally he was switched over. My son had no issues with the cow milk and didn't seem to mind at all.Changing baby to cows milk!?
at 11 months i started giving my son 2 oz of cow milk sometimes so he can get use to it. i didn't mix it with anything. he had no trouble when i stopped formula.Changing baby to cows milk!?
Please don't, Humans weren't meant to drink cows milk. Water is much better and we should be getting our calcium from green leafy vegetables...Changing baby to cows milk!?
it really depends.

My son is breast fed. And I attempted to switch him to formula at 9 months. He did not want a bar of it. However when I introduced cows milk he couldn't get enough of it.

You can try mixing it with cereal first as its best to make formula up the way it tells you too. Try giving him a little at a time by its self. Don't introduce any new foods while introducing cows milk in case he has a reaction to the milk. And just be persistant. Some babies hate it, but if they are getting formula and yoghurt and cheese, it wont really matter.Changing baby to cows milk!?
your doctor will tell you not to add it to the formula. I started my son actually, this may sound funny, but with bits of cheese. real tiny ones, so his stomach could get used to dairy in general. I also gave him half milk half water bottles, and he did fine. either way, your baby isn't going to care if you switch him completely on his first birthday, he might like it.Changing baby to cows milk!?
with my daughter i changed her cold turkey on her 1st birthday. i got rid of her bottles and formula and gave her a sippy cup with whole cow's milk and she didn't have a single problem with it. i guess i was lucky... she didn't fuss or anything, and she prefered the cow's milk over the formula by far, i think they all do....lol. that's what i did anyways, sorry if that doesn't help any.Changing baby to cows milk!?
I just added it to my daughter's diet gradually. When I introduced milk to her diet I gave her about 2 ounces at lunch time after her meal and then gradually increaced the amount and then added milk to her lunch and supper and so on until her formula was replaced with her milk. Her bedtime formula was the last to go!

Good luck and enjoy every precious moment!Changing baby to cows milk!?
I recommend you use cows milk when mixing his cereal first...this way he's introduced to it in a small amount. I had no problem at all switching both of my girls over to cows milk as soon as they hit 1! They NEVER fussed about it at all. You might want to ask your pediatrician if he/she recommends you transition to 2% milk first though. Best of luck.Changing baby to cows milk!?
Honestly, goats milk is much easier to digest than cows milk. Goats milk is more like human milk.
