Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?

is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical plug in type ,if yes how and is this safe?Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?
It would be far easier to switch to rechargeable batteries.

In theory you could use a AC adapter. Depending on the number of batteries you could buy one of those adapters with the appropriate voltage.

AAA, AA, C, and D cell batteries are all nominally 1.5 V each.

2 batteries = 3.0 volts

3 batteries = 4.5 volts

4 batteries = 6.0 volts

6 batteries = 9.0 volts

8 batteries = 12.0 volts

You could buy an adapter, cut off the tip and strip back the wires. Tape up the ends of some dead batteries and use them to hold the two wires in place against the to contacts that take the power into the swing. Look closely at the adapter to figure out which wire is the + and which is the -. Generally the one with a white stripe is the negative.

You'll may need to drill a hole into the battery compartment cover to train the wires.

Since the power out of the adapter is low voltage DC, this is a reasonably safe modification.

If you have further questions or want to describe your swing in greater detail, feel free to e-mail me.

Good luck.Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?
Well, a typical battery is 1.5 volts, figure out how many batteries it takes and have one of the Mythbusters craft up a homemade DC wall adapter. Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?
Yes, you can do it. No, it's probably not safe. We are talking about your baby here.Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?
It is possible, but not safe. Manufacturers spends millions on testing and engineering to comply with regulations and safety standards. You may adapt something but, only God know what can happen! Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?
Thomas's idea will work fine and it will be safe.

Be sure though, that the wires or battery contacts do not actually touch the dead batteries. Notice he says to tape the ends. If the batteries do end up touching the wall-wart supplied voltage, that would definitely be a safety issue.

Better to substitute a non-conductor like a wooden dowel or something plastic to hold the wires in place. Better yet, solder the wall-wart wires directly to the battery connector - without the battery of course.
