How to change my baby's name?

Well my son is only 3 months and i want to change his name. I didn't make a smart choice with the name i gave him at birth. I was wondering if i can just go to Vital Statistics or do i have to go through the court. I have been told that Every state has different laws for this. I live in the state of Florida. Can anyone help me?How to change my baby%26039;s name?
It's still early enough to change your son's name without too many repercussions. You'll have to explain to your friends and family about the change, but now is the time to do it.

You'll have to change his name with the SSA, I imagine you can get more information from these sites:

Definitely contact your county, they will have the best information.

Wow really? What is his name now? I don't think you should change his name, I am sorry but it is who he is now, but don't change the name, it was obviously meant to be. If i found out my name was something than it is now, I don't know i would just feel like I didn't know myself.

I do not have kids and I don't know if parents do this all the time or something, but you can't just go back and fix everything. How to change my baby%26039;s name?
Umm yeah I agree, I think you should leave it. I mean you have been calling him that for 3 months now, and it's just going to change all of a sudden??How to change my baby%26039;s name?
Just make the name you want to name his nick name, I have a friend who does that becuase she hates her real name and hardly anyone knows it anyways. How to change my baby%26039;s name?
if you didn't name your chile after a fruit or vegetable like Apple or Squash I would just leave it.

But if you really wantbto change it then I'd call Vital Statistics and find out whether can change it or not and how to go shot doing so if you can a choice.

If the name change is close enough, like a fix to a middle name, or an adjustment/version of what it is now, then go for it. Better now than when he gets too old and you'll be full of regret.

What got you into this position? How did you make a bad name choice? Was it pressure from others? I'm just curious. And what is it? What do you want to change it to?

Sorry I can't help with how to do it -- but I'd suggest going through the state -- he'll need a revised BC, right?
